Stranger Things has released its first look at its fourth season, bringing us to Russian Federation (with love) as the global showdown over control of the Upside Down escalates.

At the end of Season 3, following the explosion, aimed at destroying the Soviet lab to the Upside Down deep under the new Starcourt Mall, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) is seen taking her sons and Eleven out of the IN town to start a new life.

Netflix has just dropped a teaser trailer for season 4 of the smash hit series, and the extremely brief and dialogue-free spot contains a major reveal that should have loyal viewers absolutely flipping their wigs.

The third season of Stranger Things ended with Hopper seemingly sacrificing himself so Joyce (Winona Ryder) and the others escape.

In the new Stranger Things 4 teaser, which appears to take place in a Russian prison camp, Jim Hopper is laboring alongside dozens of other Russian prisoners on a railway. A very gaunt Hopper is finally seen among them, but he's missing his signature hair and beard. There's no one coming to save Hopper because no one knows he's alive.

Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer said in a statement amid Friday's teaser release. "Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything", the wrote. Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we can not wait for everyone to see more.

There's nothing else to the trailer, really, like a release date or more information on when we'll learn additional details about the show's return, but fans will no doubt get a kick out of it. "In the meantime, pray for the American".
