Koch landed in Kazakhstan on February 6 with European Space Agency astronaut Luca Parmitano and Russian cosmonaut Alexader Skvortskov.

The Michigan-born astronaut also revealed she was able to fulfill her cravings for tortilla chips and salsa when she came home to a kitchen stocked with her favorite foods. It was Koch's fourth spacewalk.

She flew to the space station in March 2019 and took part in the first all-female spacewalk in October a year ago. The Earth-to-space call will air live at 1:20 p.m. EST Thursday, Feb. 13, on NASA Television and the agency's website.

In the sweet clip, LBD, which stands for Little Brown Dog, can be seen pawing at the closed door and wagging her tail as Koch and her husband approach. But perhaps one of Koch's most most important contributions was that she herself was the subject of study while in space. The astronaut deserved the warm welcome, considering that she had just made history for the longest space mission ever performed by a woman.

Being in space for long periods of time can affect the human body in many different ways.

Side-effects include a significant loss of bone density and a drop in muscle mass, Business Insider reported past year.

Linking students directly to astronauts aboard the space station provides unique, authentic experiences created to enhance student learning, performance and interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

"In space, your heart becomes rounder. because there's no gravity to pump against", Prof.

"While no specific amount of selectees was provided now, NASA hopes to announce their most recent astronaut course in mid-2021, when people qualified persons will probably begin the minimum two decades of basic training before being certified for powered flights on Boeing's Starliner and SpaceX's Dragon", Russia's Soyuz spacecraft, or even NASA's Orion spacecraft connected to the bureau's new Space Launch System (SLS). "I can not wait to feel and hear Earth again".
